~~~~THUNDER AND LIGHTENING...what next?
We are in the throws of quite an unusual storm. Minus 4c yesterday and +15c this morning the rain was pouring from the sky.
As I was watching the weather a magnificent doe came up from over the bank but before I could get the camera ready she was gone. Maybe she thought that things were dryer on the other side?
~~~GETTING HAMMERED
AND
NO BOOZE INVOLVED!
We really got and are still getting blasted by Mother Nature.
I hope to be out of here tomorrow morning....weather permitting!
Enjoy the pix of my neighbour Al, as he cleaned out a wicked drift at the front of my driveway. I will do the rest later.
The other pix were of the back yard...don't you think Mother Nature's artistic abilities are exquisite?

It only took me an hour and a half to clean up with the snow blower following yesterdays storm but I fooled around...as in ...doing the neighbours drive and cutting a path down to the "wee bench" which is at the bank and you will see why when I post more pix especially of the lake!

~~~~~ A REAL SURPRISE!~~~~~
I received a Christmas card yesterday from an old colleague and dear friend, Linda.
Little did she know that the little sports car which was on the front of the card is similar
to the one I have put on my "Bucket List"! Maybe she knows something I don't?
I will use the card as part of my display board since I am trying out the "Law of Attraction"!
I may be surprised come the spring time!
~~~~Things are finally slowing down...a little... around here! LOL
My neighbours the Ramps arrived home safely from their long trip to Europe. It was so good to see them. The sad news is one of their two cats "JP"died while they were away and "Cat-Two" is very lonely. I feel sad for the animal because I know what it feels like to loose your best pal!
Our weather is somewhat milder and rain is expected so that might reduce the snow a bit for Christmas! The snow blower is always at the ready...just in case.

~~~I'm off to the County Museum today which is in our small town!
An old friend called and asked if I'd like to visit the museum and without hesitation we are on our way.
I will try to take some pictures and share the adventurer with you.
My last visit to the museum was with my grands and they really enjoyed it. On that day the temperatures were drastically different since it was July and very hot outside. As I recall we also visited the famous Jail which fascinated both kids. We followed that with a refreshing swim in the lake.
My friend and I won't be swimming today however it is possible since there is the wonderful Rec centre. Today is a rest day for me following a very strenuous and busy week. I am looking forward to enjoying my visit and having a few good laughs etc. LOL!
***"OMG" THE MOVIE
AUSTRALIA***
is and old fashioned EPIC movie...a definite must see for any seasoned movie buff or even a date movie. It has everything in the way of "Gone With The Wind" to "The Wizard Of OZ". You will need to take tissues for sure!!! The acting is exquisite and the scenery spectacular..."I LOVE" that country so much maybe I'll return some day!
I know it will remind L'll Sis of the feel of that red earth between her toes as we gulp down another bottle of water. And I thought Arizona was dry...it's got nothing on OZ!
Now to my drive home and the blustery conditions...yes I hit it full force because I had to stay and read all the credits which follows the movie...it took me a little longer but I made it safely!
~~~~I'm off to London today to catch the movie...
AUSTRALIA. As many of you know L'll Sis and visited OZ for a month back in 01 and that whole continent has gotten under my skin and I would love to return someday.
Yes, I have checked the weather forecast and I do know that another winter storm is heading our way. The movie is playing early and I'll be home in time to enjoy the "blustery blow"!

My friends the "Ramps" have been in France for the past
five weeks and they are due back on Sunday! They asked if
I would keep an eye on their residence and that's what I have
been doing however when I popped over yesterday this is what
I found so.....out came the snow shovel and now they will be
able to get into their digs!

~~"We take the prize"!
even if it is more glorious SNOW!
Yes according to the National Weather Network on Saturday the snow storm that hit southwestern Ontario Friday caused Goderich to receive the most snow in the province that day....33cm or 15inches and that is with no drifting.
I had a wonderful time with my snow blower for two sessions each lasting about 1&1/2 hrs. each. Didn't need to visit the Gym on Friday...and it caused a loss of 2 pounds...YEA!

~~~THE ROYAL WINTER FAIR~~~
This is the only pic I have of the "Royal"...darn rechargeable batteries failed...yet again.
We had a wonderful time watching the horse show and when our Olympic Team was introduced the roof nearly came off the building. I couldn't control my tears...a truly memorable experience! I do love horses so much!
~~~~"LEST WE FORGET"~~~~
I am so grateful to all those who have "fallen" for our country, Canada throughout the World either in a "Peace Keeping Mission" or war.
I am so thankful because without their efforts and their ultimate sacrifice, the life I enjoy today would not be possible.
"May God Rest Their Souls"!

......NOW THAT MY FEET ARE ON SOLID GROUND!!!!
...following Tuesday's election in the USA the rest of the world will be joining me in my very "Blissful Place" and OMG it's wonderful!
I really enjoyed watching CNN and their excellent coverage of the election. The new technology used was fantastic and fascinating.
The new President Elect Obama will be placed at the top of my prayer list with a special intention for his safety and good health now and into the future1
"YES WE CAN"!!!!!

TONGUE PIERCING???? YUCK!!!
A biannual visit to the Hygienist yesterday turned out to be very interesting.
As you may know it is a relatively painless process, getting your teeth cleaned and oh the wonderful feeling when you run your tongue around those pearly whites!
I was able to converse with Jackie the hygienist during the procedure. I ask if she ever had someone with a pierced tongue?
"Yes", she replied several and then told me how disgusting it is to see the area around the piercing. The stud is loaded with plaque and sometimes the area around it is infected. She always asks that the stud be removed or she can not proceed.
Jackie mentioned that so often the client says that the piercing doesn't hurt but she just can't understand that since just biting your tongue is painful!
Then, there I was completely stretched out in the dental chair when Jackie asked was I interested in getting my tongue pierced? It caught me so off guard that I broke out into shrieks of laughter even to the point that my feet were waving in the air.
She's certainly a funny little cutie pie!

Have a look at the tops of these trees which are at the front of my cottage. On the left is a magnificent pine and on the right is a maple.
Finally the colour has started on this beauty and maybe in a week or so I'll be mulching those leaves.
Have a close look at the pine it's loaded with cones and you know what that means...a hard winter and I say "Bring it on!"

Meet "Margaret Rose"!
She has returned from her long stay in the rafters of the garage
where it seems from her appearance that the rodents have not been too kind with her. The mice have used some of the stuffing from her hands and her feet and have left them to be but shadows of themselves. I think this may be her last visit.
She ingratiates the lamp post with the same "happy smile". I don't think anything will be scared off once they see Margaret Rose. She is just one of the happy people!
Till next time...
