THE RAINBOW!

This was taken yesterday Oct. 27,2008 and it is the first time I have ever seen a rainbow over the lake like that.
Take heart, I didn't even consider jumping in a boat and checking out the "pot of gold" because my life right now "IS" a pot of gold.

TONGUE PIERCING???? YUCK!!!

A biannual visit to the Hygienist yesterday turned out to be very interesting.
As you may know it is a relatively painless process, getting your teeth cleaned and oh the wonderful feeling when you run your tongue around those pearly whites!

I was able to converse with Jackie the hygienist during the procedure. I ask if she ever had someone with a pierced tongue?
"Yes", she replied several and then told me how disgusting it is to see the area around the piercing. The stud is loaded with plaque and sometimes the area around it is infected. She always asks that the stud be removed or she can not proceed.

Jackie mentioned that so often the client says that the piercing doesn't hurt but she just can't understand that since just biting your tongue is painful!

Then, there I was completely stretched out in the dental chair when Jackie asked was I interested in getting my tongue pierced? It caught me so off guard that I broke out into shrieks of laughter even to the point that my feet were waving in the air.
She's certainly a funny little cutie pie!

Have a look at the tops of these trees which are at the front of my cottage. On the left is a magnificent pine and on the right is a maple.
Finally the colour has started on this beauty and maybe in a week or so I'll be mulching those leaves.
Have a close look at the pine it's loaded with cones and you know what that means...a hard winter and I say "Bring it on!"

Till next time

Meet "Margaret Rose"!
She has returned from her long stay in the rafters of the garage
where it seems from her appearance that the rodents have not been too kind with her. The mice have used some of the stuffing from her hands and her feet and have left them to be but shadows of themselves. I think this may be her last visit.
She ingratiates the lamp post with the same "happy smile". I don't think anything will be scared off once they see Margaret Rose. She is just one of the happy people!

I was a goner.....

The other day I had an over whelming urge for an adventurer so off I went. I had wanted to really check out the colour change in the trees.
Where I live, which is right on Lake Huron we get our colour changes later because of the warmth given off by the lake.
I headed east and drove all the way around Lake Simcoe. The colours were fantastic!
Enjoy the ones I've posted!

Till next time...

The sky had just cleared of nasty clouds and this is what happened!

Don't ya just love those colours?
