~~~RAIN OR NO RAIN...
and we really need the rain, I am off to Toronto tomorrow to visit my dear old friend M.E.
She has requested that I put her through a work out routine so I will get some practice at using some of the skills I have acquired. Gee, I hope that she won't find it to strenuous!
We also hope to get in some shopping.
I have to return home on Fri. to do more studying...the test is next week.
Sat. is a 10hour day in a fitness seminar in preparation for the big test...my brain is nearly at its' limit for taking in data!
~~~"CAN YOU HEAR THAT?"

I mean the sweet sounds of SPRING! Sounds you ask...yes sounds!
As in a RAKE scratching out leaves from last fall which were stuck amongst shrubbery.

SCRATCHING, as in the results of loading up a ground tarp with the above mentioned leaves and dragging the tarp to the disposing area.

BIRDS, with their sweet mating sounds. There seem to be more each day as things start to warm up around here.

WHEW, that's the sound of me following four days of yard clean-up and my oh my the place is looking quite nice.
Now I can really enjoy watching the action of the spring flowers that have started to pop their heads through the soil.

~~~WHAT A GAME!
The semifinals are complete at the Brier and now the playoffs begin.
Last night the game to watch was between teams Ontario and Alberta. The Ontario team which was skipped by Glenn Howard (younger brother of Russ Howard who was playing on the the sheet next to Glenn's) had only lost one out of 10.
Kevin Martin skipped the Alberta team and they were undefeated. Of course it came down to the last rock and Kevin Martin took the win away from Glenn Howard.
I will be glued to the tv when these two teams meet again this weekend....to be con't...
~~~"AROUND THE HORN"!

What am I talking about you ask? Here are your choices....

1. A cruise that travels the waters of South Africa?

2. The antlers of a moose?

3. A term used in curling for taking out particular rocks?

If you choose #3 you are right!

I am getting over dosed with the Tim Horton's Brier all this week. I do limit myself to watching just in the evening cuz you guessed it...still studying in the afternoon.

Glenn Howard is undefeated....so far! What great curling, I'm loving it!

~~~STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN WHILE STUDYING!
As I was hitting the books yesterday it was time to review the Nervous System and much to my surprise a whole bunch of memories came gushing back to me.
As many of you know my first career was nursing and while in training several of us young women and unattached at the time would venture out all together during our free time.
We often did the bar scene and on one occasion we met up with a group of guys. As we were introducing ourselves one of my room mates said her name...
Medulla Oblongata...well, I nearly fell off my chair! Now don't get me wrong, it is a very beautiful name if you are referring to the area at the base of the skull! Yes, the skull!
(we would often play with the names of different parts of the body while either in a discussion or study group)
That evening most of the guys were either engineers or in the drafting field if my memory recalls so they hadn't any idea why all of us were laughing but we were able to keep up the charade all evening...of course we never saw that group again!
~~~HOME SAFE AND SOUND...I THINK!!!!
I had a very nice time visiting and shopping in the city for the past four days.
The most thrilling time during the weekend was attending grandson's hockey game.
It was the first game of the playoffs and his team has remaind in first place all season.
Prior to the game he had been practicing in the house and demonstrated to his mommy and me the "slap" shot he had been working on and each time as he aimed for the upper left hand coroner of the net he hit his target. Well, it was in the second period and since grandson plays defence he doesn't get that much of an opportunity of scoring on net.
There was alot of confusion in front of the net and the next thing we saw the puck come flying right in front of him and ...yup...you guessed it...he took aim and "slapped" it into the upper left hand coroner of the net and SCORED!
It was the only goal for the entire game...he and we were so excited!
