~~~GOLD FOR CANADA AND A QUIET DAY FOR ME!
I really enjoyed being with dear nephew and his family today. I did find time to watch Canada go for the GOLD in CURLING and it was a beauty.
Thank you Kevin Martin and crew it was fabulous curling.
I was included in the family life of nephew which included the last soccer game for M. K and I got enjoy some time together and touring the neighbourhood.
Enjoy all the pix!
Till next time....
At the soccer game and #6 is great nephew and behind him is his dad my nephew. I'm stay with them while visiting Vancouver.
"M" is enjoying the hot chocolate which was provided by one of the parents. It was a very cold and rainy day and the warm drink hit the spot.
K is such a natural when it comes to posing especially during this time of lots of blossoms.
Here are K & M getting ready to hop into the car to watch M's last soccer game of this season.
K and I went for a walk around the neighbourhood and took lots of pix which I would like to share with you.
This is a shot of a light standard which has lights simulating an explosion. These are all over the place.
While on the walk we came across this piece of are which was done by an East Indian and it was a massive grouping of VW Beetles all in different states of destruction and that lovely young lady is my dear great niece "K"!
I was struck with the style of this 'old English' imitation of a thatched roof all done in shingles.....pretty cool eh?
As some you know I love libraries and here is the exterior of the Vancouver Library.
And here is the collenade which had art hanging outside.
This is the effort of individuals folding a piece of paper in the correct shape after writing on it what "Peace" meant to them then the paper plane was launched into the tube in the centre of the picture and it is shot up to the opening where it flutters down into a net. You can see several hundred in the net. There was a little 'twinkle light' at the nose of the plan. It was a fun thing to watch.
Till next time.....
The following are a few pix that I took as I was on my way down town to the Library which looks like the Colosseum.
Can anyone relate to these pix?
This was taken from the Sky Train....another rainy day in Vancouver....I would take a foot of snow over this rain any day!
Here is where "Hacker Radio" does their broadcast....up in the corner. It is a radio station that just broadcasts in this building and for other functions around the area. It is very small but I just love it cuz of all the trivia and old fashion fun they have.
These Beauties were just wandering around the entrance way amusing the crowd. I think I detected an Italian accent.
These guys too were entertaining the curling folks as everyone was arriving for the Bronze Medal competition. The were singing unaccompanied
It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that China won the match against the Swiss for the bronze It was a very good game.
~~~HEY, PLEASE, SOMEBODY "PINCH ME" CUZ I MUST BE DREAMING!

My day started at 5:15Am and I had to get dressed and on my way to be at the venue by 7am. It is about a 45 min. walk at a good pace to get from nephew's house to the entrance. Along the way there are intersections where the light dictates when you cross.
Anyway enough of the rambling I do hope you enjoy another WONDERFUL DAY
in my life.
Tonight I have to head down to the "Bay" in mid town to pick up some souvenirs and I will be able to use my ticket from today's game to show the driver and I don't have to pay.

Till next time...

We love having young curlers attend Olympic curling. Toos and Tee....get a grip she is just 3mos old and I know you guys would have just been 'over the moon' to see her.

Here are the Canadians and the Swiss getting ready to play.

The pipes and drums in full view.

CANADA WON THE GAME AND OMG I COULDN'T HOLD BACK THE TEARS.

~~~FRIENDS!
I met up with the cousin of a childhood friend who lives in Vancouver and her name is Marleen or as she likes to be called, Mar. As we started out on yet another adventure Mar invited her friend Lori who has been a resident of Vancouver for over 20yrs to join us. Well, these two "Munchkins" are absolutely the funniest team that I've been privileged to meet in a very long time.
Lori was the tour guide and she did a fantastic job. Mar was the 'colour commentator' and they showed me the sites of just a small part of Vancouver....just a FIVE MILE walking tour(a wee stretch of the legs) and I loved every minute of it. From the eggs Benedict brunch to a wonderful meal which of course ended with chocolate and all the sights in between made for fabulous memories and stories for me.
Thank you guys you are the best!!!
Now sit back and again enjoy these great pix!
till next time...
Here I am at the Olympic symbol for Canada.Even it has the mittens on.
This a bust of a man which is down near the sea wall and the white paint is writing using all the alphabets of all the world's languages to spell hello.
Oh yes, we went shopping on Granville Island and OMG was it great. Mar wanted to do dinner and what a wonderful meal it was however the company was even greater.
Here's Mar taking a minute to take a call while preparing dinner...check out the blue latex gloves...she was working with onions and garlic....Mar you are too smart and ever so funny!
