~~~ M. V. P.
Following that wild week I had the privilege of attending Grandson's Championship Hockey game on Saturday.
His team won and the score was 1-o.
Yes, he won the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER award for his team. You can just imagine the surprise. Not only Grandson and his dad but I was thrilled.
Now take a minute.....
And enjoy the photo that I posted of that ever handsome Grandson....
Keep going your almost there....
See the wait was so worth it!
Till next time.....
~~~BUSY WEEK!

Last week was a whirlwind experience around this cottage. The painters were here to remove the paper and do wall repairs then on to the painting. It took them 4 full days. The finished effect is fantastic.

Thanks Dan and Cory you did such a great job!

~~~ WELL ANOTHER 'FIRST' FOR ME!
Let me explain....Last night Saturday the first day of Spring it was snowing off and on all day it melted before it hit the ground, oops, I digress....
I went to a concert in support of Haiti which was held in a small village called Lucknow. On the way I went through two small places called Nile and Belfast. You can almost hear me singing " Around the World in 20 Miles"!
Gee, I really must get focused and stop wandering from my topic.....
Back to the concert....
It was set up by a young music teacher sharing the accomplishments of his students with the community. Along with the kids was the Howling Dog Jazz Band from Kincardine. All of this was performed in the Presbyterian Church. The talent of the youngsters was fantastic in fact one of the students pulled off a great Leonard Cohen number and the music teacher did a remarkable rendition of a classic Sinatra piece.
I was in Heaven.....I sat at the end of the evening shaking my head thinking how wonderful life is that here I was in a Presbyterian Church on a Saturday night listening to music done by Cohen, Sinatra and the Jazz Band playing "When The Saints Go Marching In".......It just doesn't get any better than this!
Till next time.......
~~~BACK TO MY OLD SELF!

I was so glad I took last week off and rested up and conquered that cold just in time to have a fantastic visit with #2 Son and family.
I revisited the adventure I had in Vancouver and Whistler. There was much laughing going on as well as enjoying each others company.

Grand daughter really loved the warm and fuzzy jacket and daughter in law so loved her jacket too. They didn't want anything but I couldn't resist getting them from the Olympics.

So now I have a class this afternoon and another one tomorrow morning and Wed....an so on....life is back to normal!

Till next time....

~~~ OH MY !!!!
All this week I've been watching the Tim Horton's Curling Brier and my "eye candy" Glenn Howard and his team from Ontario are undefeated...Wooo Hooo
I sure love the game of Curling!
Till next time....
~~~YIKES....I'M FEELING GUILTY FOR NOT POSTING.....

I guess I'll just suck it up and get on with my life so here's an update.....

Since I have been dealing with a 'fuzzy' throat and runny eyes I have decided to stay home from the Y after all it's not fair to spread what ever I have with others.
I think someone on the flight home shared it with me!

I have been quite solitary except when I interviewed the painter who is going to decorate the front bed in a couple of weeks. Now that involves 'gutting' the room which means removing everything. I promised him that I would leave him an empty shell. So I have started moving stuff which is a real work out all by itself and of course all this is done following a cardio with in the neighbourhood because of the wonderful weather we have been experiencing here. Some days I walk the Square in town about 4 time....some of the merchants just shake their heads as I swish by.

I have procrastinated long enough about doing 'that room'. My dear friend ME asked me after Christmas if I planned on getting at the room and I once again told her that this is the year. When she visits in April I think she will be delighted. I know that rooms in a home are to be painted about every five years and this room is long past its time to be rid of that darn paper and get a snazzy new look.

I have chosen a shade of green which I just love and have used in the guest room and the front bathroom so I will be able to refer to that area as the 'green suite'....

Tomorrow I'll be back at moving more stuff out of the room and getting rid of a lot of it....clothing to charity and then a visit will be paid to the dumpster with the rest of it.

Till next time....

~~~ARE YOU GETTING BORED YET???
I had once again a few moments that brought me to tears. The flight over the ROCKIE MOUNTAINS. There was a pilot sitting next to me and he was returning home for the weekend. I commented on the beauty of the the sight of the mountains and he replied, "I am always amazed at the beauty of the Rockies"!
I however got all teary eyed and had to have a moment....bleep, bleep!
May be it was the fact that I was travelling business class....just a cut above. Cousin Mike..."I couldn't eat another pea!"
I have a little bit of 'jet lag' but I'll suck it up and enjoy the memories.
It took me a while to settle last night at the hotel but I did get a good sleep and a wonderful hot breakfast this morning.
As I was driving back to my piece of Heaven which I refer to as 'Over the rainbow' the sun was brilliant which gave Mother Nature a chance to do a little 'magic' on the landscape which you will see in the pix.
L'll Sis pointed out to me on the phone that I didn't describe the experience of zip line at all on that posting.....sorry, it is such a personal experience however if you pop over to youTube check out zip line Whistler and the video will do the trick for you.
The group leader asked who wanted to go first of our group of nine (6 younger and we three mature folks) I volunteered to be the first....did you pick up on that Pioneer Spirit emerging once again....WOOO HOOO...LOL!
All the moves on the youTube video is what I did...upside down, arms swinging, legs contorted and having the time of my life....I just loved it. Now I am so pumped for my sky diving experience in July!
Now I have to get back to my 'real life' the holiday is over so I will not be posting as often however do check back now and then to see what's happening!
Thanks to all of you for enriching my experience through your emails and phone calls.
Enjoy the pix that follow.
Till next time....
Welcome to my 'mystical' landscape or my piece of heaven... over the rainbow.
Mother nature was playing around this morning and doing 'her' magic!
Check out these trees....awesome.
Yet again....beautiful!
Derek is one very cool dude while checking out his phone and wearing his toque.
Mike demonstrating his magical abilities.
~~~HI ONE AND ALL FROM WHISTLER....

I took the 3 hour bus ride up here yesterday and met with my childhood friend Carol and her husband John aka Snoop their son Mike and his two kids Derek and Maggie. They are out skiing everyday and enjoying every moment of it.
I arrived near 1PM yesterday just as the kids were coming off the mountain so we all had lunch and the kids and Carol headed back out for the afternoon and John and I went shopping in the village.

Not only did we shop we took lots of pix and I will post them once I get back to nephew's down in Vancouver later this evening.

We are going to do zip lining around noon today so I will have yet more pix.
Some of you were asking about zip lining check out Google or youtube.

Jennifer, the cues for zip lining was crazy however I did watch it.

~~~ANOTHER FANTASTIC DAY!
I had a morning of leisure and then headed out to the mall again on the bus which I enjoy doing. I wanted to pick up a thank gift for nephew and his wife.
As I was walking into the Bay there was a sign posted which said "Today is Senior's Day"...Woo Hoo!
And there in front of me was all the Olympic merchandise so I was able to pick up some items for daughter in law and grand daughter even though they didn't want anything. I think they will be delighted.
I headed back to nephew's to unload the stuff. Then it was off for yet another visit. This time I was going to see the daughter of dear friend J who is married to my best friend M.E. She and I have known each other for 56yrs....ouch that is a long time. I digress....
J's daughter Karen I've know for 25yrs and we have not seen each other in all that time.Well, she looks fantastic. Last I saw her she had shorter hair but I love the length it is now. It was wonderful to meet her children and her partner.
Now, the only problem is I forgot to get pix! I think I'll blame it on a senior moment...duh....
Today is Wed. March 3rd. and I am off to Whistler mountain to visit with yet another childhood friend and her family.
They have plans to take me Zip Lining....what a blast it will be....
I promise to get pix this time.
Jennifer, are you getting home sick for your beautiful city as you read these postings?
Till next time
This is the view looking back at the media centre.
And the 'sails' as well as the harbour.
Cruise ships dock here.
A totem in side this large complex....sorry it's blurry I was on the escalator.
As I was wondering around I took a bunch of pix and in this one is where alot of the social action went on during the games. This a skating rink and parents and kids visited to view the performances. Over head is the zip line. There were lots of venues around selling stuff.
I couldn't resit this shot of manikins dressed up as speed skaters.
In this view you can see the 'sails' which is the back drop for the media.
The 'sails' up close.
~~~On my way to catch the bus to head down town I spotted this house being demolished to make way for a community garden and a small parket.
This bus driver is I think one of the funniest that I have met and all of the drivers have been so helpful and very kind. This one was especially fun....there was a lot of flirting going on.....he was a cutie pie as you can see. He told this joke I must share with all of you.
If you mix Viagra with a chocolate bar what do you get....."OH, HENRY"! Now that was a good one don't you think?

While I was down town I visited the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit. Now everyone knows that he did extensive study and recording of the Human Anatomy and as I was viewing this particular picture of the muscles of the neck I thought of dear Brenda our trainer at the Y. During Brenda's classes we often quiz each other on some of the muscles groups and she and I often get stuck on the sternocleidomastoid so that's why the picture.
In the next room is a modern interpretation of the human body....pretty wild don't you think?
