ANOTHER WEEK HAS PASSED......... and today I visited with a friend and I spotted this

statue but it is NOT a statue it is the remains of a tree trunk. Don't you think that is

absolute genius?

Some of my dear readers will know the meaning of this sign.

YUP, it's that time of the year!

Till next time......

16 DEGREES "C"....IT AIN'T NORMAL I SAY....IT AIN'T NORMAL!

Where's all the nasty weather. We just won't know how to behave once it does arrive!

Well, 1228 km on my SUV in the last 5 days. And what a BLAST it has been.
From the start with the visit with dear niece and family at Hawthorn Creek Farm where I got a chance to view the farm while walking with dear niece and the dog. The information the boys shared with me about my Nano and computer stuff was valuable. Niece's hubby and I chatted about everything especially his leg fractures.....things are healing nicely Pete....hang in there!

I left their place and headed over toward north Toronto and the Klinburg area where the McMichael Gallery is located. Well, then I got there they were redoing the parking lot and you would have thought that a bomb had gone off. When I spoke with the attendant she told me that it was quite a walk to the entrance. I mentioned that there was no notice of the MESS on the web site and I was very disappointed. Then I told her that I was going to watch my grandson play hockey and she giggled! Duh!

It didn't take me long to find the arena. I just don't know what I'd do with the cell phone since I called Son to see if they had arrived and then we met up.

They told me that the team, Cambridge Hornets as they are called have NEVER played a game together....YIKES!!!!

So after viewing 6 hockey games in 3 days I was AMAZED at the skills of that SELECT TEAM.....the HORNETS!!!! They are truly awesome.

There were 2games on Fri. 2games on Sat. and 2games on Sun. then to top off the weekend we had to hustle back to Cambridge following the closing ceremonies so grandson could participate in a .....yet again a hockey practice with his 'House League' team.....
What a guy....he sure loves playing hockey!!!

Scroll down and enjoy some pix of my adventure......

Till next time......

Here are the two top teams of the tournment with their visitor uniforms on in white and yellow are the
Cambridge Hornets. And to think that the Hornets never played a game together and they got this far
is unbelievable but they did.....

The Hornets were beat by one (1) point ....2-1
There is Grandson # 4. You can see how new this team is their names aren't ever on their sweaters.

A runner up team photo....GO HORNETS GO!

Keep scrolling down.....there's more.....

Check out this fantastic structure. I spotted it as we were driving to Vaughn.
It looks like a sand castle. Son told me that the stone was imported from Europe and then craftsmen chiseled on the stone
to get the required effect.....too bad I couldn't get closer so as to see the detail. It really had the WOW factor.

Keep scrolling......still more!

~~~
~~~~ANOTHER ADVENTURE BEGINS!

I'm leaving on Thursday morning to venture over to visit with L'll Sis's daughter and her family for a couple of days. L'll Sis asked if I could deliver some stuff that she and Hubby forgot to take when they visited and since they are in 'the deep south' that's the reason for my trek.

When I leave their place I plan to visit the McMichael Gallery in Klinburg. It has been many years since I last saw the work of the Group of Seven. I am really looking forward to it.

When I mentioned my adventure to dear son he invited me to join them at grandson's hockey tournament with his 'select' team in Vaughn. So there is a plan in the works. I will follow them home to their place after the game and then back over for the Saturday game and maybe Sunday too......Now, I just have to come to 'grips' of viewing contact hockey......I'll have to try what I did when son played hockey.......I closed my eyes!!!!

I'll let you know what happens.

Till next time.......

~~~~ ZUMBA AGAIN........
On Saturday morning at 8:30AM I was at the Y yet again this time for another Zumba class. Holy smokes is it a workout! The only problem with it I find is all that added energy at the end of the day. Now I just have to channel that energy in the right direction. A late afternoon walk around our park kinda took care of it.
All the energy is just one more challenge to add to my time in "R"etirement......gee, can someone PLEASE remind me of the meaning of the "R" word???
Sunday did not bring any sun which after a week of it seemed a little different however the temps are still high.......
Where could the cold and snow be hiding???? LOL!
Till next time.....
~~~~~~~ ANOTHER FABULOUS WEEK AND OH, SO BUSY YET AGAIN...

I started this wonderfully warm week off in the yard cleaning up more leaves and emptying planters .
In the afternoon I attended my Quilters' Guild meeting only to share all the effort I put in on Grand daughter's quilt and they were very impressed. I felt so pleased since so many of them are 'boarder line' professionals. I couldn't stay for the entire meeting because I had to teach a class at the Y and they were counting on me.

Tues. brought more puttering in the yard following a real good session at the Y. I am taking advantage of the lull in the weather cuz I know it won't last.

Wed. I had a 10AM date....LOL! so early oh well, I did mention that I was very busy. He was a lovely man who has a plane so I'll just see where this will go maybe in the air...LOL. I am being so silly and giggling too!

Thurs, at the Y again and just as the cardio was finishing the instructor had asked if I would do a little something around Remembrance Day. So when the time came I had all the women come into a circle and lock arms at which time I reminded them all of the sacrifices others have made for us and we had a minute of reflection. Several mentioned how they appreciated that we had stopped to remember.

Enjoy some of the pix I took during this wonderful weather week.
It just doesn't seem like November and the month is almost half over. Feels more like the beginning of October.
I still can't believe that the Royal Winter Fair will be over this weekend and earlier in the fall I had thought about attending....oh well, there's always next year.

Since Friday is my day off I really hustled and got all the inside tasks completed so as to get out for a wonderful walk. It was a terrific reward I so enjoyed getting a good cardio in without using the gym.

Now keep scrolling down and enjoy the view....

Till next time......

Check out the 'Duffers' at Maitland Golf Club just rounding the 8th hole.

T'is I with the river to the left and the fairway to the right.

A view looking up the river....no that is not ice on the river's edge....sand!

Gee, not a bad pic of the river looking toward the lake.

~~~~~~~~~~~~YIKES, IT'S BACK..........
The wonderful snow did a number on everything but not before some rain turned to ice and I had to scrape the windows!
I took this pic first thing Saturday morning as I as heading out to a Zumba class at the "Y".
There was the most fantastic sunrise and now we are enjoying a beautiful day.
By the way this old body handled Zumba just fine and I will try it again!
A LITTLE 'BLING'.........
What a stroke of luck I have found my very first quilting piece it was stashed in the bottom of a drawer. This was made before I took a quilting course and it is a little 'rough around the edges'.
I wanted to add a little 'bling' to my first work of art so out came the silver and don't you think it looks lovely?
I thought I might need the silver tea service for my party!
Till next time.....
~~~~ OK, IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I POSTED SO GET COMFY AND GRAB A BEVERAGE AND ENJOY!!!!..................

Yes, the 'OLD WITCH' herself!

Since L'll Sis and Hubby were heading south the next morning I suggested a dinner party. I invited two other couples as well as Betty the mother of one of the couples who was celebrating her 85th birthday. We really had a wonderful time and we made such great memories for Betty.

I hope you enjoy the pix of dear granddaughters 'lap quilt' which canonicals photos of her 18 and 1/2 years.
It did take me from Aug. to Oct. to complete. Now, you ask "Why" did it take so long to finish well, I had to let the project "talk" to me.....NO, I AM NOT NUTS, just creative and any artist will tell you that it is part of the process. Anyway, I am very pleased with the outcome and granddaughter really loves it. Unfortunately, when I showed it to her I told her that she couldn't have it just yet since I wanted to take the lap quilt to my Quilters' Guild to share all my efforts she of course was fine with that.

A beautiful piece of sculpter outside the Oakville Centre for the performing arts that I just loved.
I went to see the Toronto All Star Big Band and they were fantastic.
Pop over and Google the Band to hear some very 'cool' sounds!

Here I am with granddaughter the evening of her high school graduation.....she is an Ontario Scholar and I am so proud of her!

You are probably wondering about this pic well, I spotted this burning farm house and stopped to have a look.
The 'firefighters reassured me that it was a training session and not to worry and to watch the traffic.

How do you like this view of an old 'fire truck' which was parked across the road from the training exercise?
