~~~TEARS, TEARS AND MORE TEARS......OF JOY!

Sunday the Olympic Torch arrived in Cambridge Ont. and I was there.
Memories of the 1988 Olympics when I got to carry the Torch in a small community call Troy Ont. The excitement was greater this time since I will actually be going to the GAMES in Feb.

I met my brother down there and following the event we went for dinner to Cafe 13 and low and behold didn't one of the Torchbearers enter the restaurant with the Torch in his hand. He gets to keep it. Of course the Flame was already passed on. It was wonderful to meet and have a pic of the Bearer and his mom.

Enjoy viewing all the pix.....I hope you'll excuse me .....more tears coming...can you tell I am so darn excited ?

~~~ CRUSE CONTROL.....

I do love using my cruse control on my car but I could not today.
As I was heading out of Waterloo following a shopping session which was unsuccessful I headed home. Well, the weather reports were right on....snow streamers off of Lake Huron and it was BAD!

See, you can't use the 'cruse control' under conditions of any moisture on the road or you might 'hydroplane'....YIKES! and we won't be having that on we're holidays!

It took me 3hrs to get home since the roads were snow covered and there were 'white outs'!
My max speed was 7o ks......anyway I am home safe and sound.
Just as I was getting out of my car at home didn't it start to 'thunder'....yes, thunder so I sat there and watched....it was fascinating...then the snow turned to pellets of ice and then back to snow and now it is clear over the lake...Isn't nature wonderful....I love it!

Now on to laundry and unpacking....Christmas all over again...

~~~BOXING DAY !!!

Following heavy rain on Christmas day and night Boxing Day was quite mild and sunny and it really effected my mood in a positive way.
I met with an old college for lunch and the laughing, giggling and silly stories we shared were memorable.
I did get in a bit of shopping and OMG the crowds of people yikes so I had to make some changes and phoned the Lily Lady and Car Kid to see if they were available for a visit and my timing was just right. They save my sanity in more ways than one...LOL and more giggling! Thanks guys!


Sunday morning at 9am. found me along with the other visitors in the house at the arena to watch grandson play hockey....Gee, did he ever play a good game however his team lost but it was an excellent game. His skating skills have improved yet again and I am so proud of him.
He has another game at 5Pm but I will not see it since I will be welcoming
the OLYMPIC TORCH into this community and I am so excited....so I must say ....to be con't!

~~~~A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO Y'ALL!

I'm visiting with #2 Son and his family and all the preparations are well under way for the 'feasting' which will happen later in the day.
#1 Son, my brother, nephew, and #2 Son's in-laws will all be enjoying the turkey, duck and a ham as well as all the trimmings.

I think everyone in the house is getting quite tired of me stating.....
"How very Blessed I really Am"!

I do hope all of you take a minute and count all of your Blessings?

It is a magnificent winter day here and we had about 4inches of snow over night and it is so light and fluffy.
The lake is the most beautiful shade of blue.....I do love this season so much!

OMG!!!!! I almost forgot to share this pic with you guys!

Here are my Olympic tickets delivered by Purolator and when the package arrived I got so excited....you can just imagine. I sat with the tickets in my hand for some time. Along with the tickets came a small booklet containing all the "do's and don'ts" for spectators. They also warn the ticket holders that the tickets must be guarded as they are as valuable as cash.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!....I am so ready.

Our conversations are always lively, stimulating and some times quite animated.

They are such a charming couple and I am so blessed just knowing that they are always there for me.

~~~HOME SAFE AND SOUND....I think!

Tackling the unpacking and slipping back into my routine are under way.

My buddies at the "Y" were very welcoming and I treasure them so.
Our instructor, Brenda, really socked it to us with reps of 20 for each set Holy Smokes!
I didn't have an ache or pain I guess all that walking and stretching I did while away really paid off !

Now I must switch gears and swing into the Christmas mode and prepare myself for the visit with my family and I am so looking forward to seeing them.

The Olympic Torch will be going through the community in which my family lives so I want to see it.
I will be having a few lunches and some visits with friends too!
