~~~IT'S WITH A HEAVY HEART THAT I WRITE THIS!....
My "eye candy" Glenn Howard and his team lost out to Kevin Martin and his team from Edmonton in the final game of the Roar of the Rings.
The game was more or less lost in the 2nd end when Howard missed an important hit and it was almost down hill from there!
So I will see Kevin and the guys in Vancouver in FEb. 2010.
Several of you have emailed my about how cold it is here and OMG..... it is unbelievable with the wind chill it is -50C. And they say it is a dry cold here!
I have never seen "fog frost" and that is what happened this morning. You must have every part of your body covered. I made a comment and really surprised myself. I said "I think I'm getting used to this weather"! The looks I got from them were indescribable!...LOL!
I have been fortunate that my wonderful hosts Lynn and Ed make sure that the car is started and running for at least 10 min. which meant that Ed left the games early so that we could get into an almost warm car and once home it was straight into the house.
While I've been here I have had the privilege of meeting both of their daughters and grand children and again there has been lots of laughing going on.
I wish them well in their lives and I do admire them for being able to with stand this severe weather.
I fly out tomorrow afternoon at 16:30 hours from Edmonton and into Calgary change planes and then straight to London no stop over in Toronto.
I've told Ed and Lynn that as soon as I leave it will warm up and you know what...temps are to get warmer....and about time.
We have had so much fun, laughter and old fashioned silliness.
I will long remember the kindness they have shown.
They will be leaving Alberta for a winter holiday in the southern USA and I wish then all the best.
Thanks again Lynn and ED....you guys are the best!!!!!!!!!
Till next time....
